Win Vista
password estimated to be roughly 12 characters with 4-6 numbers at the end. All alpha numeric lower case and there is no special characters.

Do you mean it contains only loweracase letters with digits?

For my side its looking bad for bruteforcing it.
Worst case it would take 40 days on my notebook (9 days on my pc
) when you say that the first 1-8,1-7 or 1-6 letters are lowercase and at least the 6-12 or 7-12 etc. letters are digits.

and who says that is the case in my experience the pw is to 90% different from the guessed one (they say there is no special char in it and then there is one and vice versa).

But I tried a wordlist attack with 1-6 digits appended allready and its unfortunately failed.

When some1 has a system with 8 ATI 6970′s or 4 6990's it would be crackable in some houres I guess
penk seems to have a good brute forcing mashine ^^ maybe he can give it a try.

With ocl-hashcat-lite and a decent graphiccard you can crack it yourself when you think it is worth the time for you.

dont know if its right I thougt you can say "and vice versa" for "the other way round"

that most of the time the real pw is different from the expected one
for example someone said that the plain has lower and upercase letters with digits and special chars in it and at the end it was lowercase only...^^

The only other thing I can think of is that it might possibly have an underscore _ before the numbers
