As in change the actual programming of a file? That would be a decompiler you'd be looking for, and most of them don't even work well (very buggy). Hint: make the virus-laden program more enthralling next time, like copying a well known program (OMG LOOK NORTON WebDefender in only 589KB!!) and maybe you catch a few of the duller users on the internet. Lastly, you picked a poor target here. Another theme is to trust or not to trust such downoads from unknown sources ... best option is to trace back to original source and then download from there. You can rip icons and images from executable files and DLLs (like OP was trying to say), can also use it to change dialogues sometimes and version numbers of the files. It's not really a 'hacking' tool so much as a fun tool to play with compiled binaries. Just realized how awesome that looks, being my second post and all. Whatever, believe what you want.
