Hi all , i would like to know if anyone have some links on web securety and all for i really want to be a expert on this

i just got selectet to administrate a area network counting 500+ machines in the area i live in and some jerks are making portscans every night looking for open PCs

im a total noob to this and my expertise is in hardware Sad

all i know i gained from various tutorials from google and i always dreamed of becomming one of these master hackers but im not skilled enough Crying or Very sad

all help would be appriciatet im atm studying Java/ C++ software development but im still idiot to this web stuff Mad

cassy , is better to start from installing an Intrution Detection System on the server so that you can report people who portscan your pcs ..

then , try one of these tools for penetration testing...

I use nikto , and i find it very good ..

If you manage to secure somehow your network you dont have to pay so much attention on people who portscan your network ...

If you do care though .. Report them to their ISP ..

If you need any help on penetration testing you could ask it here in waraxe .. I am sure a lot of people here have experiense in that area and will help help you on that..
