Yes there are some private exploits out there I know that dude from Aregentina on Waraxe knows of a few more vulns in phpBB but he is keeping them private or for a select few only (wish I was one) but it could have been a server software exploit that was used on those forums.
Ask waraxe if hes got any but he wont give them to you or anyone I doubt except his admins or close friends. Razz Alls you have to do is think about what you would do if you had found a hole in phpBB and made an exploit for it. Would you go telling everyone? You would if you were a noob but you have to know what you are doing so theres on room for slip ups or being a noob. Wink

Crying or Very sad

I'm trying to find a way to exploit phpbb 2.0.13.
I think that the "user_level" mistake from the autologin code in "sessions.php" could be exploitable but I have no luck finding how.
If I found it, I will publish it in this forum for everyone.
I'm surprised to view that exists "private exploits" that people doesn't wants to publish. I search bugs in everything since 1998 (in php-based scripts i'm newbie Razz). Years ago I discovered with other friends ways to exploit the NetBEUI protocol, telnet servers, make little-evil-javascripts (just for joking! Wink), etc...we published everything! Not only our team, everybody in the scene made public his discovers! In 2003 I leaved the scene for study reasons after making a lot of toolz for Msn Messenger (4.x), and now I decided to return, but I'm a little disappointed because now a lot of people don't do knowledge-sharing!!!
I agree that now, there's a plenty more of lammers and evil-defacers than years ago, and making all public it's a little dangerous.
For this, I propouse to make a public but controlled zone/topic group of the forum for the experienced users and specially for the really-interested-in-learning-newbies (like me in php-related things Razz) to publish discovers or investigations.
I know that I'm too new in this forum to propouse things but, I search the most serious security related content forum (after viewing tons of mexican defacing teams forums and other hacking portals for script-kiddies full of ads), and I think that this forum is very interesting and serious and seems that people in it is very good, so I propose things because I want to participate actively here.

Thanks for all and sorry for my bad english, I'm spanish Razz
(user LINUX, are you spanish also?)

Salud!

Thats true, just do a google search on phpbb lower version and you'll see these skiddies defacing sites like

"We are the great hackers and are names are:"

it makes me feel like attacking there boxes when I see those.

Anyways if you stick around IRC channels, knowledge sharing is still around.

Your a true hacker when you are an expert programer in certain code or codes(i.e: php, perl, C, C++) and if you want to be a true hacker in the second meaning of the word you need to create your exploits and scripts to hack not use others. Thought Laziness is a virtue when it comes to script making....if its already made why make it again? Just Copy, Paste and modify

Yes, but reading codes from other people to view how its programmed is also good for learning, and also for improve it! This is the base of de public source code!

For example, now i'm making a modification of the "Infektion Group PHP Shell" to allow file uploading. I will release here soon.
