Hey friend. I cannot give you exacy specs but i could guide you on what you will have to have in mind.
GPU Graphic Card:
GPU cracking is a trend now and most of the hash algorythms have the approriate software that can do bruteforcing or use rainbow tables with GPU.
I have one GTX480 which i consider one of the best GFX cards for that purpose.
Imagine a very good motherboard that can support TRi-SLI or QUAD-sli of those cards.
Rainbow tables :
If money is not a problem then use those raptors Hard Drives 10000 rpm or better if you can RAID 0 them in stripe so they can run even faster.(I have 2 x 160 gb in RAID 0)
CPU :
You refer to it as server then i would recommended dual Xeon Quad the higher speed you can find. (I7 extreme is also an option)
Z800 of HP is way overpriced but should be a very good option for you if you are interested to buy a workstation.
What i mentioned above is a configuration of 1 PC/Server.
Your other option is to setup a nice grid of 10-20 computes with not so extreme GFX but at least to have a cuda graphic card.
have a look on this : ( ! CAUTION ! The following video causes wet dreams) LOL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzDbvd5knmQ&feature=related
this is for WPA CRACKING with Pyrit and 15 x pcs with gtx8800GT (quite old card)
Let me know if you need anything else.
ALso if you build such a system i would like to do a remote benchmark |
