If you want to use an exploit that is great and works for phpbb 2.0.15 then get [N]eo [S]ecurity [T]eam [NST]? - Advisory #15 - 00/00/06.
You must then compile I use cygwin and compiled while emulating Linux on Windows.
It works perfectly...... I'm well on my way to porting my self fully to Linux and this has just increased my determination.

This exploit is working for me exactly as it is here:

I saw this newest phpbb security hole in bugtraq yesterday and right now working on phpnuke/phpbb patch against it.
This is fuc*king unbelievable - once again "higlight" bug is incarnating from ashes!!! WTF, i mean...
OK, there was "urldecode()" function, that inducted security hole for double hexencoded single quotes to poison the "preg_replace" function.
Now what? There is no more urldecode() function in phpbb highlight processing routine...
Goddamn, it's time to phpbb developers to rewrite that highlight thingy WITHOUT using "preg_replace", so there will be no more critical highlight bugs in future.

Shai-tan - exploit, you have referred, is previous one - simple DoS script. This stuff, i have commented, is brand new Smile

http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=302011

Code:

phpBB Group announces the release of phpBB 2.0.16.
This release addresses some bugfixes and one critical security issue.

...

Fixed critical issue with highlighting - Discovered and fix provided by Ron van Daal

It's only the
Code:
highlight='.phpinfo().'
part that matters right? (works with all topics?)
