hi,

i'm having a problem with my site... it was hacked. all the admins were deleted. i don't want to take the whole site off line and install it again so i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to create and delete a god admin from phpnuke 7.9 through mysql.

unsure whether this is the right section. Apologies if it isn't

Thanks

This can be done in many ways:

1. I saw somewhere specialized script for admin account recovery, search it @ google
2. Use phpmyadmin and create account manually
3. Use some other nuke installatsion, copy database table and insert it to the target database.

By the way, looking at source code from nuke:

Code:

$the_first = $db->sql_numrows($db->sql_query("SELECT * FROM ".$prefix."_authors"));
if ($the_first == 0) {
   if (!$name) {
      include("header.php");
      title("$sitename: "._ADMINISTRATION."");
      OpenTable();
      echo "<center><b>"._NOADMINYET."</b></center><br><br>"
      ."<form action=\"".$admin_file.".php\" method=\"post\">"
      ."<table border=\"0\">"
      ."<tr><td><b>"._NICKNAME.":</b></td><td><input type=\"text\" name=\"name\" size=\"30\" maxlength=\"25\"></td></tr>"
      ."<tr><td><b>"._HOMEPAGE.":</b></td><td><input type=\"text\" name=\"url\" size=\"30\" maxlength=\"255\" value=\"http://\"></td></tr>"
      ."<tr><td><b>"._EMAIL.":</b></td><td><input type=\"text\" name=\"email\" size=\"30\" maxlength=\"255\"></td></tr>"
      ."<tr><td><b>"._PASSWORD.":</b></td><td><input type=\"password\" name=\"pwd\" size=\"11\" maxlength=\"10\"></td></tr>"
      ."<tr><td colspan=\"2\">"._CREATEUSERDATA."  <input type=\"radio\" name=\"user_new\" value=\"1\" checked>"._YES." ;; ;;<input type=\"radio\" name=\"user_new\" value=\"0\">"._NO."</td></tr>"
      ."<tr><td><input type=\"hidden\" name=\"fop\" value=\"create_first\">"
      ."<input type=\"submit\" value=\""._SUBMIT."\">"
      ."</td></tr></table></form>";
      CloseTable();
      include("footer.php");
   }
   switch($fop) {
      case "create_first":
      create_first($name, $url, $email, $pwd, $user_new);
      break;
   }
   die();
}

Well, seems that if all the admin accounts are deleted, then phpnuke
must offer again the possibility to create first account, as it did right after fresh install.
Anyway, if you still got problems, let me know and i will help you.

Ok, i wrote some very simple script for deleting all the admin accounts at once. After admins deletion you can recreate your first admin account.

This script can be downloaded from here:

http://www.waraxe.us/~kama/phpnuke/reset.zip

Just unzip and upload reset.php to nuke directory, where index.php, config.php and other files are. And after using remember to delete it ASAP.
Just for info, there is source code:

Code:

<?php
error_reporting(E_ALL);

$cfg_file = './config.php';

if(!is_file($cfg_file))
{
   die('Cannot find config.php');
}

require($cfg_file);

$link = mysql_connect($dbhost,$dbuname,$dbpass) or die('Cannot connect to mysql ...');

mysql_select_db($dbname, $link) or die ('Cannot select database ...');

$sql = 'DELETE FROM ' . $prefix . '_authors';

$ret = mysql_query($sql, $link);

if($ret === FALSE)
{
   $error = mysql_error();
   echo "MySql error: $error <br />\n";
}
else
{
   echo 'OK, reset done';
}

die();
?>

This is written in 5 minutes, so it is primitive script, but it will do what suppose to Very Happy

Feedback is welcome Smile
