Hardening of a phpBB installation?

Hi - as this site purports to be a security forum rather than hacking, perhaps someone could point me in the right direction for what I should be doing to harden my installation of phpBB?

Currently I do the following:

1. Apply all updates and patches a few days after they are released (I wait a few days in case a problem is found and a new patch is released)

2. Super-strong password for the root-level accounts which are never used to log into the forum with to post.

3. Delete or move the folder where the version number is listed.

I can't seem to find a security FAQ for phpBB despite dredging the phpbb forums - are there files I should be chmodding after installation? Anything else obvious I'm missing?

You could additionally protect your administration panel with a .htaccess file.
