Well the brute forcer is still running with your method (and will be for a while Razz)... its trying all 1-6 letter variants of upper and lower case letters and numbers with no symbols (mixed-alpha numeric 1-6)... I think i will leave it on over night Smile

I have scored and found the md5 of that password. Heres the md5: 576738e2beee980ff96aad42302791d5

Maybe we could try that? What ever is easiest. Smile

Ok, the brute force has been going 13 hours and 38 minutes... no result as of yet... I've got one of my servers now running it through PassswordsPro (in Wine) with the unsalted md5 now Smile

EDIT: Both computers are still running, but having run the plain MD5 through milw0rm i get this result:
Quote:
md5 576738e2beee980ff96aad42302791d5 notfound

Hmmm....

Well my brute force attack is finished. I can now say for certain that the password is not a 1 to 6 character hash of upper, lower or numeric characters. Crap. I want to a few more things before I give up on it!

However, given the failure of the brute force attack... I can say that the chance of me finding the password now is very slim indeed...

I shall press on!

Update:
unfortunatley, I am now out of options. I have launched *every* attack available to me to no avail. The password may be any combination of letters and numbers 7 or more characters in length. There is no more I can do. I could launch another brute force attack with a 1-7 password length, but this would increase the brute force length from just under 1 day to over 60 days.

Im afraid I can do no more Sad
