Hi again,
can anyone tell me why does a simple MD5 32 char hash froom phpbb3.x takes so long to crash ? while others are like 500 % faster eg: ntlm, linux, etc .
it is talking me longer like 12 times more to crack a phpbb3 hash
2a3c6eef1e0b76328de7b66ab1179eff
than a pass + salt of joomla 3.
shoudn't it be faster ?
UPDATE
Already Found the PT for the the hash I stoped using passwordspro and started using the nvidia BARSWF it cracked it in 45 seconds ! |

BarsWF is a very fast cracker that utilizes the nvidia graphics card for cracking, which the card is very good at seeing as it was created to perform millions of small calculations very quickly. Passwords pro is a bit (okay a bunch) slower than BarsWF at cracking because it only uses the CPU.
However, there are advantages to using PasswordsPro, namely the different salting schemes that it provides and easily manages. You just have to weigh the type of hash you are using. |
