Posted: Thu Aug 11, 2011 11:00 pm R3D33M3R Beginner Joined: Aug 11, 2011 Posts: 3 I'm a long time creeper, first time poster.This being my first post I would like to say hey to all the forum users and to the mighty administration I bow to you. I am starting my BSIT this Fall and I want to teach myself a programming language. Which, in your opinion, should be the first one I learn? I've messed around a little with Perl but I need to know if i'm just wasting my time learning this language or not. If so which do you suggest? Basically there are different types of programming languages and syntaxes. For example, there is C and different descendants (C++, in a way also Java) and Basic and it's descendants (Visual Basic, VB.NET etc.) So it is also a question, which type (or dialect) you want to learn.
