Hi guys (and girls), I have just downloaded Passwordspro to retrieve a IPB 2.3.5 password, so I have the hash and the salt, when using brute force attack I see and ETA of 3 days, what kind of program do you use, I believe to have seen that requests were honored within a few hours, or do you use a whole farm of computers?

I use the tool from md5this.com with a compilation i made myself from their Wordlists that reaches 686mb, takes 15min to go through a hash/salt , even though i have been out of luck finding anything working yet.

It all depends on password complexity. Weak password's hashes are crackable, strong password's hashes are practically uncrackable, period Wink

^That I do understand, but to get back to the question, which programs are being used and do you use the brute-force, or do you have a mega dictionary?

I have a *large* wordlist ~32gb
Takes me roughly 2 days to crack an unsalted MD5.
About a week for a strong salted MD5.

Its gonna take time, you cant avoid it!
