I have a a full ipb forum and sql backup from a site which I have loaded on a server and it works fine. Now is there any way I could rip any original passwords from this somehow ?

I also heard there is a password mod for ipb or is someone taking the piss ? lol

You could make a program to sort through the user accounts' table. That's what I usually do.

And once you do that, its worth knowing that IPB is encoded in this format: MD5(MD5(salt) . MD5(password)) . It takes a little bit of time to brute it but its worth it.

I bet LOL Laughing

I can use the *Md5This Tool* and get the hashes and salt but this takes a fair bit of time.
