You can get infected with virus, trojan or other malware. In general - software warez IS RISKY. Movies and music is different thing - usually avi and mp3 files are not risky to download and use. Best solution is to use torrent, emule or other P2P program and download only software, which is promoted allready some time and no people are complaining so far.
