I am trying to get into a phpBB forum for a reason not just to deface it. The change log says its 2.0.17. It also says that bbcode and XSS exploits have been patched. HTML is off so the cookie snatcher is out...
I need a hand getting somewhere. All I really need is for my user name to be given permission to a specific thread. If someone would be so kind as to do it for recreational fun that would be great but I would like to learn as well.

If you cant find a exploit in the forum try and attack the server directly than just that one site. There could be hundreds of other websites on that same box and you could easily find one exploit that could give u access to upload a shell. Then try and root or somehow bypass the permissions on the server and gain access that way  |
