Is strange with and * no?

Some password of the same system are in mysql encryption but others are in this kind of encription...What is this encryption?

Now that is interesting. Very very interesting.
Looks like an MD5, but they have masked one character with a "*". So it is now pretty un-crackable, but they can still check passwords against it effectively...

Where abouts did you get the hashes / What software did the hashes come from?

Edit: I realise now that i have been an idiot - Im leaving this message here for humor value - I honestly had no idea they were from Mysql!!!
Edit edit: Oh well, my idea still stands - Masking one character of an MD5 makes it pretty secure i guess =]

Plaincart that in theory use mysql encryption but others sites has this encryption....
