Difference between Hybrid Dictionary Attack and Dictionary Attack?

I have a Core2Duo @2.00GHz processor, and I get 480K passwords per seconds, is that good? When I check it says that only about 50% of my CPU is being used, is it possible to make it use more to do more passwords per second?

When cracking Salted Passwords, does it matter if the Salt is capitalized or not? (ex. Would ABC be same as abc?)

Hybrid extends normal dictionary attack by subbing or adding characters or numbers. eg if you have a dictionary with the word "password" the hybrid attack can do things like "pa55w0rd" or "password123" etc.

If it's using 50% of your core2 then that means the program is only using 1 core of your processor. What program are you using?

Hashes are not case sensitive but salts are case sensitive.
