Is there any efficient way of harvesting md5 hashes from sites such as forums? Is it even possible??

Just a curious question, would be great for a reply though.

As you can guess, md5 hashes are meant to be kept private, usually in sql database. And of course webmasters and admins does not want them to be stealed by some bad guy Smile
So there is no "magic formula" for easy and effecient way to harvest md5 hashes. Still, if you can find and exploit some security holes, like sql injection or XSS, then you can steal md5 hashes, if you know how to. And by writing little php, perl, bash or whatever else script you can automate harvesting process and gather ... let's say for example 100 000 usernames and md5 hashes from some forum within 5 minutes Smile
