Then it's hard to figure out, whats the problem. If you want me to try it myself and it's not supersecret, then PM me ftp address and i will try it myself. I guess a little social engineering never hurt anyone . I also suppose opening one of the files in the docs directory and changing it isn't viable either. Theory says it is, experience and luck says it isn't. Is there a way to gain write permissions on ftp? Without having the admin make a new account that is.
