It's oneway algorithm, becasue it's creators wanted to be that way. It's the essence of hashing. Because md5 hash has always fixed length and plaintext can be ANY lenght, then it's obvious even without knowing anything about cryptography, that DECODE operation is IMPOSSIBLE. Hash is inreversible. Cracking is just trial/error method and will not work against good passwords.

And one more thing - have a look at md5 algorithm details and/or C or java or whatever else implementation. It's interesting to see, what makes md5 hashing tick Smile
